Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali warns Roma must raise their offer for Davide Frattesi, while they ‘haven’t heard from PSG for 10 days’ about Gianluca Scamacca.

The Neroverdi are at the centre of the transfer market in Italy and attracting a lot of attention from Europe too.

It is reported there will be another summit between Sassuolo and Roma tomorrow, as the gap remains between the €20m offer and the €25m asking price.

“We have a very good rapport with Roma, we’ve done several deals together, so if Roma really want to sign this important young man who is already in the national team, they need to match the value that we have given him,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia.

“It is a fair market value. We’ll see what happens. I told Tiago Pinto we could put the Frattesi issue on a shelf for a moment and discuss the many young players we could bring in from Roma.”

There are reports in France and Italy this evening that Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of agreeing a €40m plus bonuses deal for Sassuolo striker Scamacca.

However, Carnevali warns there has been no progress on the centre-forward, who is priced out of interest from Milan and Juventus.

“We have not spoken to PSG for 10 days, that is totally static, we’ll see if other opportunities open up. Unfortunately, I don’t think those will be within Serie A.”

Domenico Berardi had already tried to leave Sassuolo last summer and was close to Fiorentina, but nobody could match the asking price. Could the situation be different this year?

“He might want to join a big club and play in the Champions League, but he is our captain, so we’ll have to think long and hard before letting him go.

“This is our 10th consecutive Serie A season, we have no real intention of selling our star players.”
