Now that Milan have finally resolved their directorial problems, they can step up negotiations with Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech.

The Rossoneri were hamstrung on the transfer market by the uncertainty within the club, as new owners RedBird won’t fully take over until September, meanwhile directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara had their contracts set to expire at midnight tonight.

Down to the last minute, Maldini left the Milan headquarters and confirmed to reporters outside that an agreement had been reached to extend their contracts to 2024.

“We are happy to be here and ready to plan a future with even more victories. There’s time, we started a bit late, but we’ll recover lost time,” said Maldini.

That pointed to his frustration at the delays that have already seen them miss out on players who seemed to be locked down, LOSC pair Sven Botman and Renato Sanches.

Now that this uncertainty has been resolved, Tuttomercatoweb report Milan are already hard at work intensifying negotiations with Chelsea for Ziyech.

The forward is available on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season and can play on the right wing, or in a more central creative role behind the centre-forward.

  1. The only report that matters is that of Paolo & Co staying. I trust in them to work out the Mercato and improve the club.
