Bryan Cristante has become a fundamental player in Jose Mourinho’s Roma squad and the club have lined up a new contract for the midfielder after recent inquiries from Juventus and Milan.

The 27-year-old Italian is a key part of the Giallorossi squad and has featured in every match this season for the club, starting in all but one of these games. Cristante is also proving important for Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri, being an experienced leader on the pitch and a top example for his teammates.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Roma are well aware of the serious interest in Cristante and have been working to agree a new contract with the midfielder for months. His current deal expires in 2024, so the Giallorossi have been hard at work trying to agree terms before the clock starts to tick.

Roma have now agreed a deal in principle with Cristante that’ll see him tied to the club until 2027, raising his salary to around €3m net per season.

Juventus and Milan both inquired about the 27-year-old in recent months but the Giallorossi have no interest in losing their midfielder, forcing their hand.
