With Sassuolo seemingly dropping their asking price for Davide Frattesi, Roma face strong competition from Inter, Arsenal and now Milan too.

The midfielder does not want to sign a new contract and has made it very clear he wishes to leave, specifically for a return to his boyhood club Roma.

However, despite having a 30 per cent cut of any future transfer fee as part of the original €5m deal, the Giallorossi have struggled to agree terms with Sassuolo.

They hope to find the breakthrough in January with the inclusion of youth team players Edoardo Bove and Cristian Volpato.

Inter and Arsenal have also been linked, but now Milan have emerged as contenders for Frattesi too.

According to Sport Mediaset, Sassuolo dropping the asking price from €40m to €30m could open up the door.

More importantly, they might be prepared to accept a similar deal offered to Juventus for Manuel Locatelli, specifically a paid loan over one or two years with obligation to buy, spreading out the cost over several seasons.
