Even more doubts surround the futures of Romelu Lukaku and Tammy Abraham after Chelsea sacked their coach Graham Potter on Sunday.

The Blues confirmed Graham’s dismissal on Sunday, less than eight months after his appointment as the first-team coach.

José Mourinho and Luciano Spalletti are reported to be among the candidates to take over at Stamford Bridge next season, even if Julian Nagelsman appears to be Chelsea’s first option. In the meantime, Bruno Saltor has been appointed as an interim coach.

Potter’s sacking has raised questions over the future of Serie A stars Lukaku and Abraham.

The Inter forward will return to London at the end of his loan spell in the summer, but the Nerazzurri are still unsure whether they will bring him back to the club in 2023-24.

Potter said last week that he is an admirer of the 29-year-old, but now the final decision on Big Rom’s future at Chelsea will be taken by his successor. Multiple sources in Italy claim the Belgian forward wants to remain at Inter next season.

Tammy Abraham has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, given that Chelsea have an €80m clause to sign him back from Roma in the summer.

The Atheltic reported in March that the Blues are following Abraham in the capital and the same is true of Manchester United and Aston Villa.

The England international has only scored seven goals in 39 appearances across all competitions this season.

Chelsea will decide if they will activate the clause to re-sign the product of their academy after appointing Potter’s successor.
