Former Inter President Massimo Moratti believes they can win the Scudetto this season, and praises Coach Luciano Spalletti.
The Nerazzurri are top of Serie A, and face Juventus in Turin this weekend looking to maintain an unbeaten start.
“Can we talk about the Scudetto? Yes,” Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It’s important to have that word in your heart and your head, but also to fear it so that you play with the right tension every Sunday.

“As well as Juventus there’s also Roma, and Napoli who play wonderfully under Sarri.
“Juventus? We’re both going into the game in our best moments. I hope it’s a great spectacle, because now the rivalry has remained on a sporting basis.
“[Juve Coach Max] Allegri is very good, so we’ll have to see how he studies us but I trust in Spalletti to study him.
“They have quality players and the stadium will be all Juventino. It’s a really stimulating challenge to face.
“VAR leaves everyone more calm, not just me, even if I’m struggling a bit to get used to the fact that the joy of a goal is choked and suspended while you wait for TV pictures.
“What do I fear most about Juve? Their automation, which always works fantastically. After that [Gonzalo] Higuain and [Paulo] Dybala.
“If I could take one, since we already have a fantastic striker here at Inter [Mauro Icardi] I’d take the former Palermo man. Icardi-Dybala, what a fantastic pair!
“There’s no comparison to the rivalry with Milan. On one hand there’s a dual citizenship, direct confrontation.
“On the other there’s a historical antagonism. Sportingly speaking, Juventus are the real enemy.”
The Beneamata thrashed Chievo 5-0 at the weekend, and Moratti was full of praise for that performance.
“It was a perfect match, everyone ran and knew where to go and what to do. And they also gave the impression they were having fun.
“Just look what [Antonio] Candreva did on the byline, with repeated dribbling and then a sombrero flick over his opponent.
“These are things you do when you feel in tune with your teammates and the crowd. It all stems from the enormous confidence the players have in their Coach.
“Did I give Spalletti advice? I’d never presume to, he doesn’t need it. We shared thoughts, and I explained to him the psychology of the Inter fan.
“He already understood everything though, and set about making everything great straight away.
“I was close to appointing him myself more than once, but nothing ever happened. After the Treble we were very close, I even sent [Ariedo] Braida to talk to him, but he went to Zenit [St Petersburg].
“[Antonio] Conte is very good, but the real difference is that Spalletti hasn’t won the Scudetto yet, and with Inter he sees the chance to reach something very important.
“Conte has already won in Serie A and England, so if he didn’t win here it would be seen as Inter’s fault and not his. Spalletti is involved 100 per cent.
“Spalletti enters the players’ heads like the Portuguese [Jose Mourinho] did. There’s mutual trust, which makes the whole environment calmer.
“Trust comes from the play as well as solidity. In the recent past we’ve started well, but didn’t express ourselves that way, there wasn’t such a solid and well-defined base.
“I think the turning point came in Naples, where the team became aware of what they could do.”
