Milan players slept at Mialnello last night after their Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Torino.

The Rossoneri were supposed to return home after their home match at San Siro, but according to Gazzetta, coach Stefano Pioli was so upset that he forced all of them to spend the night at Milanello where the Rossoneri will train today, preparing for Saturday’s Serie A match against Lecce.

The defending Serie A champions lost 1-0 to Torino despite being up one man for 50 minutes and Pioli looked visibly frustrated during his post-match interviews on Wednesday night.

“We played aggressively, determined against a tough side, but without the necessary quality and sharpness to make the most of the undoubted advantage,” Pioli told Sport Mediaset.

“We were hasty, trying to get shots away and crosses rather than open up the defence. It’s a big disappointment, there’s no denying it, we wanted to go through.”

The Rossoneri had been held to a 2-2 draw by Roma on Sunday, seeing the Giallorossi score two goals in the last five minutes.

They are currently seven points behind table leaders Napoli who host Juventus at the Stadio Maradona tomorrow.

Next week, on Wednesday, January 18, the Rossoneri will face their city rivals Inter in a Supercoppa clash in Riyadh.
