Milan picked up an important win over Slavia Praha in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie, a result that saw them overtake Lazio in UEFA’s club coefficient rankings.

The Rossoneri were a little frustrating in their Thursday evening clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, struggling to keep a solid defensive shape against a 10-man Slavia Praha, but regardless Stefano Pioli’s side secured a 4-2 win in the first meeting of their Round of 16 tie.

Things were far more difficult for Lazio in their Champions League outing on Tuesday, falling to Bayern Munich 3-0 in the return match of their Round of 16 clash, a result that saw them crash out of Europe. It was a disappointing result considering their unexpected 1-0 win in the first leg.

UEFA updated their club coefficient rankings following the latest round of European football. Milan rose a few spots to take 29th, overtaking Club Brugge, Sporting CP, Lazio and PSV.

There were no changes for the other Italian sides, with Inter in sixth, Roma in ninth, Napoli in 15th and Juventus in 17th.
