According to Italian sports papers, Leandro Paredes and Paulo Dybala emerged as Roma‘s best players against Brighton last night.
Roma secured a comfortable 4-0 win over Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton on Thursday night in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
The Giallorossi coach Daniele De Rossi, who has won eight games from 10 since replacing José Mourinho at the Olimpico, received high ratings from Gazzetta and the other two Italian sports papers, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport.
However, Italian media had different views on Roma’s Best Player last night. According to Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport, Paredes was the best on the pitch (8/10), while Tuttosport awarded Dybala (7.5/10).
However, the gap between the pair was minimal as both Argentineans significantly contributed to the Giallorossi’s victory.
Dybala scored in the first half with an assist from his compatriot, and Corriere Delo Sport asked, ‘Where was this version of Paredes in the last few years?’
Tuttosport highlighted on page 18 that Dybala was the team leader and put in another magnificent performance. All other Roma players, especially Mile Svilar, El Shaarawy, and Romelu Lukaku, received high ratings from Italian sports papers on Monday.
