Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is expected to meet his boss Thomas Tuchel today and Sky Sport Italia looks at the possible scenarios after today’s summit.

The Belgian striker apologised to Inter fans for the way he left, saying that he hopes to play for the Nerazzurri again ‘not at the end of his career.’

Fair to say his teammates and Tuchel were not impressed by his interview as the former Inter star was left out of yesterday’s key Premier League clash against Liverpool.

After the match, Tuchel said he would meet Lukaku today to discuss his future at the club.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Blues and the striker will try to reach some sort of agreement, avoiding a rupture in their relationship.

Lukaku can’t afford to spend the entire season on the sidelines and the Blues can’t waste one of the biggest investments of the last few years.

The 28-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge in a €115m deal in the summer but has only scored seven goals in 18 appearances this term.

Inter are monitoring the situation but Lukaku’s return to San Siro in January appears unlikely.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham could try to sign Lukaku at the end of the season, dropping Fiorentina‘s Dusan Vlahovic.

  1. Article #73 about a player in the English Premier League not related to “Football Italia”.

Anxiously waiting for article #74 in the next hour.

  2. @Brandon, it is going to be how bad Antonio Conte wants Lukaku at Tottenham and they both will held a meeting in Milan next week; while Juventus is following the development keenly because if on top of the ongoing, Chelsea fails to make it to the UCL quarter final, it opens a transfer opportunity and that Juventus will fight with Tottenham … in the meantime, our beloved Seria A is just at the corner … Football Itangland!

  3. Such drama, heaven forbid that a player says what’s on his mind. I guess they should not speak to anyone unless your club writes your speech for you.

  4. Sooo, three big stars left Serie A over the summer, and all three are complaining (or have “suffered” in some fashion) on their current squads. I was fond of Lukaku, but this drivel of him wanting to return again to Inter…horses**t! He made his bed, man up and gut it out.
