Massimiliano Allegri will become the most successful coach in Coppa Italia history should Juventus beat Inter at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.

The former Milan coach is tied with Sven-Goran Eriksson and Roberto Mancini on four victories in the competition.

Allegri’s first came during his maiden season in charge of Juve when they beat Lazio 2-1 after extra time to win the competition for the first time in 20 years to go with the Scudetto.

That season, they even had the chance to complete the Treble but lost 3-1 to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

Juve then began to completely dominate Italian football as Allegri also added a further three Coppa Italia successes to go with the title victories in each campaign.

In 2016 they again relied on extra-time as Alvaro Morata scored a 110th-minute winner, while the following campaign they again beat Lazio in the final, this time 2-0.

Again in 2017 they had the chance to win the Treble but were beaten 4-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Allegri’s Juve saved their Coppa Italia final best for 2018 as they took Milan apart 4-0 with a devastating second-half display.

The following campaign, 2019, was the first – and so far only – time Allegri failed to win the competition as Juve coach when his side were eliminated by Atalanta in the quarter-finals.

Eriksson first won the competition with Roma in 1986 before adding a second with Sampdoria in 1994 and then enjoyed success with Lazio in 1998 and as part of a Double in 2000.

Mancini’s first Coppa Italia triumph was with Fiorentina in 2001 before he led Lazio to victory in 2004 as part of a personal run of three consecutive wins as he then claimed the trophy with Inter in 2005 and 2006.

  1. He will set another record alright, how to make Vlahovic defend and 4th game without a goal. Formation for tmrw 10-0-1, defend at all costs and hoof it route one 1Mpbs or 0-60 mph in 60 minutes with the Omicron 2.0 PhD Max variant.

  2. That season, they even had the chance to complete the Treble but lost 3-1 to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

Again in 2017 they had the chance to win the Treble but were beaten 4-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
