Gian Piero Gasperini concedes their ‘plans all went out the window’ after a massive COVID outbreak, but Atalanta are still determined to play their game against Lazio this evening.

It kicks off at 19.45 GMT, you can follow the build-up and action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.

La Dea are missing seven players who have tested positive with COVID-19, believed to be  Luis Muriel, Teun Koopmeiners, Josip Ilicic, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Mario Pasalic and Hans Hateboer.

On top of that, Duvan Zapata and Robin Gosens are also injured.

“The last two days have been a little complicated,” Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia after flying down to Rome this afternoon.

“We trained well after the Inter game, then this situation emerged yesterday, the plans all went out the window, but we can still put a good team out onto the pitch.

“I have to say the club has always adopted this philosophy of carrying on and playing even in difficult situations. We are convinced of that, we stick to the rules.

“Bergamo had some very tough times during the pandemic, our spirit has always been to keep going and we continue like that.”

Atalanta have only four outfield players on the bench this evening at the Stadio Olimpico, so start Roberto Piccoli upfront, ahead of his reported transfer to Genoa on loan.

This could be a big game in the fight for a Champions League spot, as Lazio, Roma and Juventus are all still in the running, not to mention Fiorentina.

“This is a very balanced league that I expect will be resolved in the last 10 games, perhaps even fewer. It’s not just Juventus coming back into it. We have a small advantage and that could be useful.”
