Tare was asked if the Biancocelesti were chasing down Atalanta for a place in the Champions League.

“Lazio are not chasing down opponents, we have to focus on ourselves,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a campaign with a thousand difficulties, so it’s fundamental we don’t look too far into the future, instead take it one day at a time and in a couple of months then see where we are in the table.”

Maurizio Sarri confirmed Lazio are unable to currently bring any players in, even on loan or as free transfers, because of the liquidity index.

It was already an issue over the summer and only solved at the last minute by President Claudio Lotito increasing the capital with €10m of his own money. Will they do that again?

“We are working on unblocking the liquidity index, because there are some opportunities. Unfortunately, things can change from day to day, sometimes positively, sometimes negatively,” replied Tare.

“There is faith and if we can do what we plan, we can help the coach reinforce the squad. It’s not just sales, but also sending some players out on loan to go elsewhere.”
