Massimiliano Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galeone has revealed which players Juventus need to strengthen the team and replace Paulo Dybala in 2022-23.

The Argentinean striker will leave Turin at the end of his contract in June as the Old Lady has decided against extending the agreement with the 28-year-old.

Juventus ended their 16-game unbeaten run against Inter on Sunday and are now eight points off the top of the table. Allegri said on Sunday that Juventus would try to become title contenders from next season. But what will the Serie A giants need from the market next season?

“Juventus need players of high technical value to add quality in the final third. They need a replacement for Dybala,d a player like Miralem Pjanic and perhaps someone who can help Dusan Vlahovic.”

Vlahovic’s goals per minute ratio has dropped at Juventus

The Serbia international has seen his goals per minute ratio drop since joining Juventus in the January transfer window.

“However, new players should also be physically strong,” added Galeone.

“The team that reached the Champions League Final twice had Sami Khedira, Dani Alves, Mario Mandzukic. Players who knew how to stay on the pitch.

“Juventus used to buy the best players in Italy, such as Pjanic or Gonzalo Higuain. They should do the same now. They did it with Vlahovic and should do the same with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

“Antonio Rudiger and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé would be good signings from abroad.”

Galeone believes Vlahovic still needs to improve and compares him to Stephan El Shaarawy.

“Vlahovic is a good player, but he must improve to be Juventus-worthy. He knows that and the club is aware of it as well.

“El Shaarawy joined Allegri’s Milan from Genoa. He was accustomed to training with Il Grifone, but at Milan, he found Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta. He understood that what he was doing at Genoa was no longer enough and that he needed something else.”

6 thought on “Allegri’s mentor sees Chelsea and Barça stars as ideal signings for Juventus”
  1. Juve is very predictable in the final third. Two highly technical wingers will provide another threat away from Vlahovic to shift defense. Zaniolo is good, but not good enough when compared to other talents out there.

  2. Allegri’s face just annoys me, we lose 3 nil to villareal and he says it was the best performance of the season, he is bad for Italian football, another dinosaur with no vision and scared of youth also eg Fabio Miretti

  3. Fabio Miretti will play in serie B next year to get more minutes just like Fagioli. Thats the way they work in italy. Italy is clearly going backwards.
