With the top three teams divided by just four points in the Serie A table, Football Italia compares the fixture list of Milan, Napoli and Inter. Who has the easiest one?

Milan’s 0-0 draw against Bologna last night saw Napoli and Inter move closer to the top of the table.

The Partenopei are just one point off Milan, while Inter are four points behind the top of the table with a game in hand. On paper, Milan still have their fate in their hands as they’d be crowned Italy champions for the first time in 11 years if they win all their remaining games.

Ranieri ‘would support Roma against Leicester City, Abramovich…’

However, Stefano Pioli’s team is still quite inexperienced and would need to handle the pressure in the next few matches. They probably don’t have the easiest fixture list, but they beat both Inter and Napoli in the second part of the campaign, so they surely don’t fear meetings with direct opponents.

Claudio Ranieri has told La Gazzetta dello Sport that none of the last games of the campaign are easy. However, motivations will make a difference in the final month of action. With that in mind, who has the most accessible fixture list among the top three Serie A teams? Check it out below and have your say in the comments section.

15 thought on “Milan, Inter or Napoli: who has the easiest fixture list in Serie A?”
  1. Inter have the easier games on paper, but they are also playing the worst football of the top 3 sides by a large margin. They could easily lose any of the remaining matches, especially since they can’t score goals.

    Milan‘s schedule is pretty tough.

Napoli should be favourites at this stage,

  2. It’s a bit pointless looking at the fixture list, as there’s nearly always unexpected points dropped and gained along the way.

I think it’s anyone’s now, and none of the top sides are much good. Juventus still have a minute chance as well.

It’ll be won by the best of a bad bunch.

Napoli winning it would be nice, mainly so we can have a different winner for a change. We’ve only seen 3 Serie A winners in over 20 years.

  3. The way I look at those fixture lists is Milan have 1 game they’ll definitely win, Napoli and Inter have 2 of them. No side is easy to face, Juve deserved more from the game against Inter, I won’t even rule them out looking at these. Inter has the easier run on paper but our performances are bad recently, whoever wins will deserve it as they say, Serie A has never been more competitive in the last 25 years.

  4. @Azzkirk: it can be tricky, because lower end teams that fight for relegation often put in more effort than a midtable team safe from relegation.

I think this is Napoli`s scudetto to lose.

  5. Ranieri made a good point regarding the strikers. Right now, Napoli‘s forwards look the most fresh, dangerous and clinical of the three teams.

As for the fixtures, like the others have said, Inter has the easier games, but their midfield looks exhausted and their forwards out of form. And this is Serie A, don’t be surprised if all three drop enough points against the mid-bottom clubs, to allow Juve to close in on them and make things tight at the death.

  6. As Inter fans I must admit that this season is for Napoli, they play good football and find consistently in recent week.. I expect they could have fall behind in winter because winter is always Spalletti enemy, but my prediction was wrong and now they are favorite

  7. @tony so true I bet Lautaro will be allowed to do his crouching dragon hidden tiger again and the referee will say he “only broke his jaw, carry on nothing to see here”. Also what is up with Bastoni allowed to hold onto other players by the leg. Ridiculous how the farmers league turns a blind eye to only one club. It is a lesson for any team that plays them not to touch them inside the box but as Torino can testify when the shoe is on the other foot the VAR team is nowhere to be seen. Once a dirty club always a dirty club.

  8. I agree with most of previous comments. I just can say, we need 2 penalties to score one goal per game. 😛

  9. What makes sense on paper doesn’t always translate to results, as we saw last night. Time will tell.

  10. even though milan drop point yesterday night they will win 6 of their last 7 matches remaining and draw one.

  11. Looks like we’re in for a jolly good race to the finish here, finally, after a decade of dull predictability. Milan and Napoli are in the best form, but Milan are pretty inexperienced and Napoli have a long standing habit of bottling the last games. Let’s see what happens.

  12. The team with the best performances overall will win. Inter so far have the best attack in terms of goals scored and second in defence conceding only 1 more that Napoli. If those last matches are taken into account it’s fair to say that Inter will win the league despite being down a couple of points. Inter have faced the toughest matches so far this season so far and CL was a big part of the dip in performance. Now without the CL and if they put 100% in each match I can even see Inter winning all of the remaining matches. But they’ll win because both Napoli and Milan will drop points
