Di Francesco was interviewed by Gazzetta dello Sport today and touched upon what has delighted and frustrated him about this season in Italy’s top flight.

“In this year’s Serie A I liked that almost all the teams tried to raise the quality of their game,” he explained.

“The big teams and the small. Even at the cost of paying with a few points fewer in the table.

“What annoyed me? The hysteria. Also among Coaches. I even put myself in the dock. We must be better, all of us.

“Who would I like to coach? A year ago we tried to sign Bernardeschi. I saw him at Crotone and I fell in love with him. He has something special.

“Juve-Milan? I’ll listen to it in the car on the way back from a conference organised by Mapei. And I’ll support Juve.”
