“It’s difficult. In England the television revenue is distributed more evenly,” Di Francesco told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“But we like to dream and Squinzi is an ambitious owner.
“Sometimes, while laughing, he talks about the Scudetto or invites us to get 10 more points than in the previous season. He says it jokingly, but it makes us raise the bar mentally.
“But we’re careful not to throw away money. I would never ask him for a signing outside of our potential.
“Sassuolo must grow one step at a time. We must improve the attendances at our stadium and our season ticket holders. We’ll try to with all our strength.
“Other talents? Pellegrini has given us glimpses of great things. He’ll stay with us for another year even though Roma could redeem him for an amount that was already agreed.
“Sensi? Don’t compare him to Verratti, he needs to develop without pressure. Comparisons are bad.
“I’m curious to coach Mazzitelli, who’s arriving from Brescia. We’ll help him move into Serie A football.
“I can’t stand the word ‘rejected’. I always prefer to give another chance, especially to youngsters with quality.”
