Charles De Ketelaere is now reportedly a step away from joining Milan after a €35m total deal was agreed with Club Brugge.

The Rossoneri are finally closing in on the 21-year-old Belgian forward’s signature, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after weeks and weeks of tough negotiations. Milan have had to fight off stiff competition from Leeds United and the fans have been anxiously awaiting every update, desperate to see De Ketelaere in red and black.

As reported by Corriere della Sera, Milan are set to reach a deal with Club Brugge for De Ketelaere this week, ready to pay around €31m plus €4m in add-ons for the 21-year-old.

The Belgian forward has agreed in principle to sign a five-year contract with the Rossoneri, understood to be worth around €2.3m net per season.

Last season, De Ketelaere scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 33 Jupiler Pro League appearances.

  1. Yes Michael another young player with years ahead of him ,while an Italian young player with years ahead of him doesn’t get a chance.all these big clubs love foreigners.

  2. Maldini got his chance in that position last year. Now, Belgian boys turn. Freedom of Movement in the EU, baby.

  3. Dominick & co. don’t: 1. Understand that Milan has no young Italian player of CDK’s caliber at that position; 2. Understand Italian players of high caliber at any position always come at a premium for some reason (See Roma‘s valuation of Zaniolo (who is getting playing time btw) and Chiesa’s transfer to Juventus from Fiorentina as some examples); 3. Understand that the “growth decree” hurts intra serie a transfers because it makes foreign players 50% cheaper. At the end of the day bottom lines rule, not sentimentality. If you haven’t noticed, clubs with money are always trying to bring in the best players because they’re trying to win now. Thus, the EPL, with so much cash, is also now neglecting talented local youth. Hence, why we’re looking at this talented 18 y/o from Aston Villa, Carney Chukwuemeka, and why we picked up Tomori. I suspect this may become a trend, talented youth outflowing from the EPL to other leagues to gain playing time in competitive top 5 league sides outside the EPL.
