Paul Pogba has found himself at a crossroads as an injury now forces him to decide if he’s willing to miss the World Cup in order to undergo a knee operation, a decision his compatriot Samuel Umtiti was once forced to make.

Pogba suffered the injury during a training session with Juventus last week, and whilst initial indications suggested that he’d only be out for around two months, now it seems as if he could be forced to undergo meniscus surgery, which would leave him sidelined until 2023.

The Frenchman now has an incredibly difficult decision to make. Will he undergo an operation in order to try and resolve the issue long-term or take less serious measures now to allow him to take part in the upcoming World Cup.

It’s not an easy choice, something Umtiti learnt the hard way. The French defender famously suffered from knee issues in the run-up to the 2018 World Cup but choose to compete instead of remaining sidelined from the tournament. Whilst he did lift the trophy, his career has been majorly derailed since, with injuries endlessly plaguing him.

Should the tests confirmed the need for a meniscus operation, Pogba will be forced to make a decision. Juventus are pushing for the safer option, predictably, but the allure of the World Cup may prove too tempting to resist.

  1. Tik Tok Paul should definitely choose the WC. With a squad like that compared to his club, he has an actual realistic chance of winning the biggest prize in world football once again. PhD Max and his squad have zero chance of winning the CL. Even the league title looks beyond them. The squad has not been bolstered in areas that matter (full backs + midfield). Even if the injury prolongs and he misses the tournament he must go. He can keep moral up, Tik Tok round the clock in the changing rooms, do Kounde’s hair and dye his own live video. Unfortunately he cannot do PhD Max’s as the stress of CALMAAA!!! finished him off.

  2. @Papa Fester
    Agree with you on that
He has already won World Cup and I’m sure France will never reach WC Final this year with the likes of Mbappe who feels like he is the most entitled player in France and even goes far by trying to sign a manager for his club and throw neymar out of the club or with the likes of Tired Kante and Rabiot who were overrun by almost everyone in the latest UCL and other overpaid france stars.
Pogba is better off taking care of his own health so that he can finally get rid of this injury which was not noticed by the funny MANUTD medical team for years.

  3. I already said it before the Juventus contract and I say it again now: Pogba is DONE. Nedved, Arrivabene and Agnelli have been taken by what they are: FOOLS

  4. @Putuco
Why do you think you know better than Nedved , Allegri , Landuci and Angelli ?
It really amases me how confident some so-called fans are .
Well many Juve fans don’t like allegri tactics but almost the majority of them like Pogba and are waiting for him to get back on track and watch him play. Furthermore, Did they waste your money ? nope. they got him for free and are paying him almost the same amount is as rabiot and ramsay and it’s their own money. why so angry ?
Pogba isn’t done, it’s your neurons that are done

  5. Easy choice. Do the surgery. If he has a meniscus problem NOTHING he can do will enable him to play at a top level. It is a band aid fix that will only see him re-injury himself. Deschamps won’t play him if he is not 100% fit anyway so it is a moot point. What a mess for Juve.

  6. Another joke signing. Another waste of money.
IT also shouldn’t be up to him to choose anything, he is injured because he has obvious problems, he should not be given the option to play the world cup at all.
He signed for Juve, got injured in 20mins (unsurprisingly really i mean he’s been injured more than he’s played for the last 2 years or so!), no doubt he is going to be paid to sit an watch his team mate work for their money so Juve should take this opportunity to get him operated on as soon as possible so he can play and get off the free ride wagon instead of getting him 3/4 fit enough just to get him to world cup so he can get injured again and spend more time bein paid doing nothing!
This guys a fraudster and Juve medical team should be sacked for missing these very obvious weaknesses and the team behind bringing him in should also be investigated.
Keeping this guy in your team with wages he gets can stop 3 or 4 younger Italian players coming through.

  7. If pogba chooses the World Cup that’s fine but at the end of the day it’s Juventus that pays his wages unless pogba relinquishes his wages or the French FA foot the bill for prolonged injury recovery that prevent him from fulfilling his duties to Play for juve!
