Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno has reportedly agreed terms with Monza, while Lazio continue to work on Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.

There are a lot of shot-stoppers filling the transfer window this summer and moving around within Serie A.

Following Cagliari’s relegation to Serie B, it was inevitable that Cragno would attract attention from bigger clubs.

He has been linked with Fiorentina, Lazio, Napoli, Lecce and Torino, but it seems as if Monza have clinched a deal after earning their first ever promotion to Serie A via the play-offs.

Tuttomercatoweb claim this will be a loan with option to buy that becomes an obligation if Monza survive in Serie A going into the 2023-24 campaign.

Cragno turns 28 later this month and has two senior Italy caps.

As for Lazio, they continue to work with Atalanta to sign Italy Under-21 international goalkeeper Carnesecchi, despite the fact he is out for three to four months after shoulder surgery.

According to Il Tempo newspaper, Atalanta want €15m plus a 25 per cent cut of any future transfer fee.

The offer on the table from Lazio is €10m plus a 10 per cent sell-on cut.

  1. Incredible that no big club is interested in Cragno or Vicario. Inter hiring a prone error GK like Onana and Juventus married with a below average GK like Perin. At least Milan has an excuse with Maignan, but what about the rest? Napoli would be a good suit for Cragno too…
