Poland CT Paulo Sousa has confirmed Piotr Zielinski will not be risked against England in the World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday, as the Napoli midfielder is ‘not ready’.

Napoli confirmed Zielinski suffered a bruise in his right thigh when the attacking midfielder pulled up during the 2-0 win over Venezia.

Even if the Poland international didn’t suffer any lesions, it’s uncertain when he will return, but the Azzurri are hoping to have their star back in time for the big game against Juventus.

Poland prepare to play England in the qualifiers for Qatar 2022 tomorrow and CT Sousa revealed Zielinski will not be involved in the big game at the Stadion Narodowy in Warszawa.

“Zielinski will not play the game tomorrow, he’s not ready,” Sousa said at a press conference.

The 27-year-old has not played since the opening game against Venezia but was not missed when Poland won 4-1 against Albania and 7-1 over San Marino this month.

Poland sit five points behind England at second in Group I and are hoping to close the gap to two points with a win on Wednesday.
