Milan duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie are working to be ready for a return against Lazio after the international break.

The Ivorian and the Swede are, according to Sky Sport Italia, back in training with the Rossoneri and have started preparing for the next League game at San Siro.

Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio are the first out for Milan after the break and tough games against Liverpool and Juventus follow for the Diavolo.

Both players are now expected to play their first game in 2021-22 against the Biancocelesti, and Stefano Pioli gets a boost ahead of a demanding September.

Ibrahimovic and Kessie were absent in the first two games against Sampdoria and Cagliari, but Zlatan has recovered from a knee injury that kept him out since May and Kessie returns from a muscle problem he suffered before the new season.

Ibrahimovic carried out arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, but the Swede has, according to the broadcaster, shown promising signals in training.

Olivier Giroud is currently out with coronavirus and the Swede’s return would help fill the void a few days earlier than the initial schedule.

Milan reportedly aimed to have Zlatan at 100 per cent for the Champions League game against Liverpool, but the 39-year-old wants to play against Lazio this weekend.

It’s not certain if Ibrahimovic will be able to play the full match against the Aquile, but Kessie, on the other hand, is expected to start and return as a protagonist for the Diavolo.
