“There are a lot of good teams in the competition, but we have the confidence to win.

“Feyenoord? They’re a tough opponent.

“They have a great history, they won the trophy in 2002 and the Dutch league has quality.

“We have a difficult game against a formidable opponent, but we’re ready.”

Zanzi then turned his attention to the battle for the Scudetto, with Roma sitting just a point behind leaders Juventus after this weekend’s fixtures.

The Giallorossi were defeated 3-2 in Turin earlier this season, and will play Feyenoord away in the Europa League the week of the return match at Olimpico.

“We have a lot of games now before we play in Europe again, Saturday [against Milan] is an important game.

“As for the next game against Juve, we have a big squad and we want to win the game, [but] it’s not easy to travel [in Europe] and then play.”
