Reports in Italy suggest France striker Marcus Thuram is not the only player Inter will scout during the World Cup in Qatar, mentioning five targets in the Nerazzurri’s agenda.

The Serie A giants aim to strengthen their squad in January but must deal with a very low transfer budget.

Thuram, available as a free agent in June, is one of their primary targets and sporting director Piero Ausilio has flown to Qatar to watch Lilian’s son in action with France.

Gazzetta reported last week that Thuram’s potential move to Inter in January would force at least one striker out of the Stadio Meazza in the summer, with Romelu Lukaku also being subject to scrutiny after struggling with injuries in the first part of the campaign.

As per Calciomercato.com, there are more players on Inter’s agenda, as Ausilio will use his trip to Qatar to watch other potential signings. Among them are Valencia and USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah and  Fabian Rieder, a Switzerland international under contract with Young Boys.

Ecuador international Piero Hincapié started in the World Cup opener against Qatar on Sunday and could be included in a player-plus-cash swap deal with Bayer Leverkusen involving Robin Gosens.

The Croatian Borna Sosa (Stuttgart) and USMNT international Antonee Robinson, contracted with Fulham, are among the options to replace Gosens if the German leaves in January.
