According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter will try to sign Marcus Thuram in January, meaning that one or more strikers could leave in the summer, including Romelu Lukaku.

Thuram’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach runs out on June 30, but the Nerazzurri want to sign the France international six months before the expiration of his contract.

According to Gazzetta, Borussia could demand up to €10m for the 25-year-old, who has also been linked with Juventus.

Inter signed Christian Eriksen for €20m from Tottenham in January 2020, six months before the expiration of his contract and want to do the same with Thuram in the winter transfer window.

However, if Lilian’s son joins the Serie A giants in January, one or more strikers will leave in the summer.

Joaquin Correa appears as the most likely, but the Argentina international didn’t receive offers in the summer when Inter needed to sell him to buy Paulo Dybala.

The future of Edin Dzeko and Lukaku is also in doubt. Dzeko’s current deal runs out in June when Lukaku’s loan spell from Chelsea ends.

According to the report, Inter are not 100% sure about signing the Belgium international on a permanent deal in the summer and Chelsea could bring him back to the club to find new suitors.

Thuram scored 13 goals in 17 appearances at a club level this term, managing to get a spot in the France squad for Qatar 2022.
