Thousands of Napoli supporters gathered at the airport in the middle of the night to greet and celebrate with the players on their return from Turin, having beaten Juventus 1-0 on Sunday evening thanks to a late Giacomo Raspadori finish.

The Partenopei landed at the Capodichino military airport at roughly 2.20 am in the early hours of Monday morning, where they were greeted by around 10,000 supporters according to Corriere dello Sport.

After beating Juve at the Allianz Stadium, Napoli have moved 17 points clear at the top of the Serie A standings and are now four points away from mathematically guaranteeing the Scudetto.

If Napoli beat Salernitana at the Maradona on Saturday and if Lazio fail to beat Inter on Sunday, the title will be wrapped up by the end of the weekend.

Many supporters, however, feel as though the championship is already over and those who were in attendance at the airport last night were clearly in a celebratory mood.

There was chanting, drums, flags and as usual, plenty of flares on display as the Napoli players made their way towards the team bus.

Victor Osimhen and co. then climbed on top of the coach and celebrated with the fans who had gathered, joining in on the singing and dancing.

The only one who missed out on the festivities was Luciano Spaletti, who travelled directly to Milan from Turin to visit his family. He will have to wait for the potential title celebrations next weekend.
