The Italy squad for the Under-21 European Championship has been announced, including Leeds United striker Wilfried Gnonto and Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The tournament will run in Romania and Georgia from June 21 to July 8.

As Gnonto is participating in the Nations League final four with the senior Italy squad first, he will only join up with the Azzurrini from June 19.

Italy begin their group phase on June 22 against France, then face Switzerland on June 25 and Norway on June 28.

Tonali, Gnonto and Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini are among those who accepted the step back from Roberto Mancini’s team to join in with the Under-21s for this competition.

Raoul Bellanova is also present after playing in the Champions League Final for Inter against Manchester City.
