Two more Roma players have tested positive for COVID ahead of their match against Milan next week.

The Omicron variant of the virus has forced governments across Europe to re-introduce restrictions in order to attempt to slow the spread of the contagion. Serie A stadiums, for example, have had their capacity lowered to 50% again and from next week onwards players will need to be in possession of a green pass in order to compete.

As announced by Roma today, two more players have tested positive for COVID following the latest round of molecular PCR tests. Both players were vaccinated and are now in self isolation at home, and they have remained unnamed for now.

Coach Jose Mourinho will now have to tinker with his squad choices a little ahead of next week’s match against Milan, scheduled for January 6. Recent reports also have suggested that a Giallorossi first team regular is one of the few anti-vax players still resisting taking the jab.
