As the Derby d’Italia draws closer, a transfer market derby for Davide Frattesi between Inter and Juventus is also taking shape.

Both sides are keen to pick up the 22-year-old Italian midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window, appreciating his growth at Sassuolo in recent years. This season in particular he has impressed, shining under Alessio Dionisi, and now a move to a big club seems on the horizon.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Inter and Juventus are set to compete for Frattesi’s signature, with the Nerazzurri making the first move for the 22-year-old. They failed to iron out an agreement however, allowing the Bianconeri to enter the fray.

Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini has already spoken to both Frattesi’s entourage and Sassuolo, who want €25m for the player. Roma will also collect 30% of this due to a clause in the deal that brought him to Emilia-Romagna.

The Bianconeri hope to sign the 22-year-old Italian midfielder on a Manuel Locatelli-like deal, which was a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached.

Inter are considering including one or two players in a deal which could also include Gianluca Scamacca, another one of their top targets.

If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that Sassuolo will be one of the busiest clubs when the summer transfer window opens later this year.
