Despite rumours that Giorgio Chiellini plans to retire at the end of the season, a move to the MLS for the Juventus veteran cannot be ruled out.

The 37-year-old Italian centre back could do little but watch as North Macedonia surprised everyone with a late winner in their World Cup play-off in Palermo last month, ending his hopes of competing in one final World Cup before his retirement. Rumours quickly surfaced that this spelt the end for the Bianconeri captain, but nothing can be confirmed at this stage.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiellini will almost certainly leave Juventus at the end of this season and a move to the MLS is still definitely possible, following in the footsteps of Lorenzo Insigne.

The 37-year-old Chiellini, who is set to end a 17-year association with the Bianconeri this summer, has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, for a total of 1144 minutes. In that time, he has performed well but there are concerns regarding his physical condition.
