Roma director Tiago Pinto sees today’s trip to Inter as ‘an opportunity for us to prove our capabilities’ and start the run of 12 games in 44 days.

It kicks off at San Siro at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

Both these sides went into the break for international duty with losses in Serie A, so the pressure is on for them to deliver, also with an eye on upcoming European commitments too.

“We had a two-week break, so it’s difficult to tell what form the team is in, but we are certainly motivated going into 12 matches in 44 days,” Tiago Pinto told DAZN.

“I think there is no better stadium to play a game like this, as San Siro has such a wonderful atmosphere.”

Jose Mourinho is in the stands, sitting out a touchline ban after his red card for dissent.

Director Tiago Pinto was asked if he expected Roma to have such a complicated start to the campaign?

“We in sport always hope and expect to win every game, but football is not just a balancing act, removing and replacing players. The transfer market I would say influences the sporting success by about 30 per cent, but you need that daily work in training to make the team stronger. “I think this game is an opportunity for us to prove our capabilities.”
