The appeal hearing to CONI Collegio di Garanzia for Juventus‘ 15-point deduction, which also involves Fabio Paratici, has been set for April 19, 2023 and La Gazzetta dello Sport explains the three possible outcomes.

Juventus were deducted 15 points and saw their former president Andrea Agnelli and ex-directors, including Paratici, Pavel Nedved and Maurizio Arrivabene, banned for several months.

FIFA announced on Wednesday that the verdict issued by the FIGC court of appeal in January has been extended worldwide, meaning it will affect Tottenham director Paratici, who has been banned for two and a half years.

The appeal hearing to CONI Collegio di Garanzia has been set for April 19 and there are three possible conclusions, as highlighted by Gazzetta.

First of all, CONI Collegio di Garanzia bases its decisions on the legitimacy of the appeal and not on merit, so it just intervenes if the rule of law is violated. With this in mind, the CONI court can either reject the appeal, which would see Juventus’ point-deduction and bans for their former directors confirmed, or accept it by vacating FIGC’s decision.

There is also a third way. This would see CONI accept the appeal, sending the case back to the FIGC Court which would need to clarify its decision. In this case, Juventus’ point-deduction and bans for their ex-directors would be temporarily put on hold, waiting for the updated motivations from the FIGC court.

In no case the CONI court can partially accept the appeal, so reduce the point penalty for Juventus and the length of bans for their ex-executives.
