The Frenchman has been linked with Roma, with reports that an initial bid has been sumbitted, but the Neroverdi are desperate to hang on to one of their star men.
“We believe in him a lot, he’s one of the players who helped compensate for [Domenico] Berardi’s absence in the first half of the season,” Squinzi told reporters after the Premio Brera.
“We hope we can use him for the entire campaign. I’m not directly involved in the transfer market, but he’s important for us, as is [Leicester target Francesco] Acerbi and many other players.”
Squinzi was also asked about Berardi, who is a summer target for Juventus and Inter.
“He’ll definitely be with us until at least May. He’s a symbol for us, and we’ll do everything to make him a permanent symbol.”
