Gerard Deulofeu calls Milan “the biggest team in Italy” and hopes to play against Juventus on Wednesday.

The Spanish winger finally completed his loan move from Everton earlier today, and gave his first interview to the Rossoneri’s official television channel.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s on the right or the left, I want to play,” Deulofeu explained to Milan TV.

“Milan are the most glorious Italian club. I’m very happy, I’ve wanted to come here to Milan for a long time.

“It’s a great club, I hope I can play against Juventus on Wednesday and I’m very happy to be training with my new teammates.

“Everyone knows that Milan is a historic team, they’ve won seven Champions Leagues, they’ve had a lot of strong players and a lot of Ballons d’Or.

“This is the biggest team in Italy, and everyone knows this club around the world. I’m very happy to be here and I hope I can help the team.”

Deulofeu has never played in Italy before, but the Barcelona youth product believes he has a reasonable idea of how Serie A is.

“The football is very tactical, I often talk with [Ever] Banega, [Cristian] Tello and Patric at Lazio, and they’ve told me that the defences are good.

“I’ve seen a few Milan games because I knew I might be coming here.

“Vincenzo Montella? I know his past as a player, that he’s a Coach who likes to play good football and that he’s at ease with young players.

“I’ve come to Milan because I think I can play, otherwise I wouldn’t have come here. I’m pleased they were interested in me.

“I hope I can take advantage of this great opportunity. You have to believe in your dreams every day, work hard in training and – above all – listen to the advice of the Coach and your parents.”

Deulofeu also confirmed that he will wear the number 7 shirt.
