Chris Smalling’s agent James Featherstone has reportedly arrived in Trigoria to discuss a contract extension for the English defender.

Smalling’s current deal runs out in June and Roma are unwilling to part ways with the ex-Manchester United centre-back who has been linked with a free transfer to Inter or Juventus,

According to Calciomercato.com, the player’s agent James Featherstone arrived in Trigoria this morning to meet club directors and discuss a contract extension for his client.

Smalling is happy at Roma and wants to continue at the Stadio Olimpico. According to the report, he won’t consider offers from other Serie A clubs and may only be tempted by an offer from the Premier League.

Smalling currently gets €3.8m per season and Roma are open to giving the experienced centre-back a pay rise if he signs a two-year deal. The Giallorossi could even offer a three-year contract but would lower his salary to €3.2m per season.
