Bayern Munich are not currently expected to activate their buy-back clause for sought-after Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, who is still being tracked by three Serie A clubs in Milan, Inter and Juventus, according to reports from Sky Sport in Germany.

Zirzkee moved to Bologna from Bayern in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of €8.5m plus add-ons, with both sell-on and buy-back clauses included as part of the deal.

Now approaching the end of an impressive 2023-24 campaign, which has seen Zirkzee rise to the top of Bologna’s goalscoring charts during a battle for Champions League football, the Dutchman is reportedly being tracked by a number of clubs across Europe.

According to Sky Sport DE, however, Bayern are not particularly interested in paying to bring Zirkzee back to the Allianz Arena at this moment in time.

It is believed that the Bavarians could activate Zirkzee’s release clause for a fee of €40m, but with Harry Kane and Mathys Tel performing well, there is not currently much of a need.

Milan, Inter and Juventus still remain interested according to Sky, as do a number of teams in the Premier League, including Manchester United, according to reports elsewhere.

Zirkzee is set for a spell on the sidelines, as he picked up an injury during Bologna’s 1-0 loss to Inter in Serie A on Saturday. He is expected to miss a period of around three to four weeks.
