Bill McMurdo, the agent of Bologna ace Lewis Ferguson, opened up about the interest from Juventus, Inter and Milan, noting how his client ‘has always been clear’.

The 24-year-old Scot has emerged as one of the most exciting midfielders in Serie A over the last 18 months, playing a key role in the team’s incredible form this season under Thiago Motta. His work has helped them rise to fourth in the table with 10 matches left to play.

Ferguson, who is contracted to Bologna to June 2027, has been on fire this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 29 appearances across all competitions. His work has attracted the attention of some of the best in Italy, suggesting an interesting summer transfer market.

Speaking to TV Play via TuttoBologna, Ferguson’s agent McMurdo discussed the interest in his client and what comes next.

“I want to point out that my client could’ve signed for any team in Serie A on a free transfer, but he chose Bologna after having various conversations with Sartori and Di Vaio, and the choice turned out to be a winning one considering the extraordinary season they’re having.

“There are many rumours that link Lewis to teams of the caliber of Napoli, Inter, Milan and Juventus, but he has always been clear with Bologna – if one of these teams ever contact him, the Bologna management will have to evaluate the offer.”

McMurdo then commented on the impact of Thiago Motta on Ferguson and his development.

“He is an extraordinary coach and if he were to go to Juventus, considering the respect he has for Lewis, he would want to have him, and it would be difficult for my client to refuse such an offer.”
