La Gazzetta Dello Sport reveals Inter‘s transfer strategies for January, including Milan Skriniar signing a contract extension and Robin Gosens potentially leaving.

The Nerazzurri ended the year with an away 3-2 win at Atalanta and are preparing to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.

Their priority is to extend with star defender Skrinar, whose contract runs out in the summer.

According to the report, the Slovakia international is open to signing a contract extension with the Nerazzurri even if their offer does not match the one made by PSG in January. However, Skriniar is happy at the club, so he is expected to pen a new deal worth €6m per season.

Edin Dzeko’s contract also expires in the summer and Inter CEO Beppe Marotta said on Monday that the Bosnia international ‘deserves a contract extension.’

However, Inter won’t offer him the same money and Dzeko would need to accept a salary below his current €5m per season.

The ex-Roma star will consider his options considering that he’d like to end his career in Los Angeles, where his wife Amra would like to move.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri would also consider the future of Robin Gosens, who has failed to impress at the Stadio Meazza. The German full-back refused to join Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, but the Bundesliga side remains an option for January.

Inter are reportedly interested in Valencia’s Jesus Vazquez and Villarreal’s  Alfonso Pedraza although the Yellow Submarine do not seem interested in loaning their defender even if the deal comes with an option to buy.
