La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports Inter are close to reaching an agreement over Milan Skriniar’s contract extension, with the defender ready to snub PSG.

The Slovakia international had agreed on a €9m-a-year deal with the Ligue 1 giants in the summer, but Inter refused to sell for less than €70m, despite the defender’s contract expiring in June 2023.

According to Gazzetta, a second meeting between Inter directors and Skriniar’s agent took place earlier this week, hours before Wednesday’s Serie A game with Bologna.

The defender is reportedly open to signing a new deal with Inter, who have offered less money than PSG.

The Nerazzurri’s offer exceeds €6m per season, including add-ons, but Skriniar is motivated to stay in Milan. He is happy on and off the pitch and didn’t expect Inter to match PSG’s proposal.

Therefore, the Serie A giants hope they will be able to fix the last few details in the coming weeks, shaking hands on a new deal before the end of the month.
