Reports continue to insist that Juventus are working to bring in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, but considering his form for France too, should the Bianconeri stick with Adrien Rabiot instead?

Max Allegri needs something to bolster his midfield, especially with Paul Pogba’s injury problems, and have long been linked with the Serbia international.

Milinkovic-Savic would cost in the region of €60m, with money raised by sending Leandro Paredes back to PSG from his loan, letting Rabiot leave as a free agent and selling Weston McKennie for €25-30m.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport calculate that it might be a mistake to let Rabiot go for nothing when he is in the form of his life.

His contract is due to expire in June 2023 and a summer move to Manchester United only failed because the club baulked at his wage demands.

That sum of €10m per season is also the reason Juve are prepared to let him walk away, but he is already in the squad and it’d be cheaper than signing Milinkovic-Savic.

Rabiot is 27 years old and in the form of his life, scoring six goals in 20 competitive matches this season between club and international level.

Milinkovic-Savic is two months older than Rabiot and has six goals with eight assists in 25 official matches for Lazio and Serbia.

  1. Do not be fooled. He might be in fine form but too late. SMS is hungrier and needs the step up. That does not mean a step to the 1/6 x 7/9 = PhD Max calcio revolutions. Simply put, a step to the EPL or Spain.

  2. We have been after him for ages go for it as Rabiot’s mum will be asking for too much for his renewal
