Following a two-day weekend, Dave Taylor selects his best XI from Week 28.

Marco Sportiello [Atalanta]

Played a massive part in securing a point at San Paolo with a handful of crucial saves, including a  reaction save with his legs from a powerful Gonzalo Higuain effort. Arguably man of the match. Commanding.

Marco Sportiello [Atalanta]

Played a massive part in securing a point at San Paolo with a handful of crucial saves, including a  reaction save with his legs from a powerful Gonzalo Higuain effort. Arguably man of the match. Commanding.

Molla Wague [Udinese]

The 24-year-old Malian was at his best making interceptions and clearances throughout. After several set pieces he made his presence felt at a corner as he found space to volley home. Imposing.

Giorgio Chiellini [Juventus]

Not one to back out of challenges he was unbending in tackles and attitude throughout. Had Maxime Lestienne in his pocket and was also a menace at set-pieces, hitting the crossbar in the mêlée after one particular corner. Dominant.

Cesare Bovo [Torino]

Never at a loss to intercept or clear his lines he had the perfect partnership with his captain Kamil Glik and led the back line admirably. Full of running he has been one of the inspirations behind Torino’s season this campaign. Impressive.

Felipe Anderson [Lazio]

Like the dream-inducing sprite Puck, from A Midsummer Night's Dream, he hypnotized the opposition defence. After scoring the opener by directing a superb header into the corner of the net he continued to menace with his pace and trickery and almost scored again. Inspiring.

Daniele De Rossi [Roma]

Seemingly back to his old challenging self and after a quiet start he scored at exactly the right time to inspire a drooping Roma. The goal pepped up the Giallorossi and De Rossi was back to being influential and involved in the game. Stimulating.

Riccardo Saponara [Empoli]

Tucked behind the front two the 23-year-old had a monumental game, scoring twice and producing a clever assist. Although taken off after 70 minutes he had done the job by then and was a worthy man of the match. Epic.

Cristian Molinaro [Torino]

The wing-back was forever pushing up the left side of the pitch causing problems every time he got the ball. It was from his accurate cross that Migjen Basha scored with a diving header at the back post. Notable.

Josip Ilicic [Fiorentina]

Arguably man of the match with his runs and decisive tackling. Was at his very best when sending in a set-piece for the opener and completed a fine game with a sublime pass for the second. Crucial.

Mario Gomez [Fiorentina]

Although it took him a little time to find his feet it was certainly worth it with a fabulous equaliser from a free kick. His second was equally as pleasing as he collected another sublime pass from Ilicic before scoring. Decisive.

Carlos Tevez [Juventus]

Juve’s main man as always. His 16th league goal of the season was certainly one to remember as he waltzed past a defender, hips wiggling and shoulders dropping like some old-time Lothario before sending a screamer past Mattia Perin. Influential.

Special Mentions: Jeremy Menez [Milan], Alberto Paloschi [Chievo], Riccardo Meggiorini [Chievo], Boukary Drame [Atalanta], Maxi Lopez [Torino], Marco Parolo [Lazio].
