Andrea Belotti secured a point for Torino in their Derby della Mole clash against Juventus tonight, which ended 1-1.

The Bianconeri came into this match fired up, having started 2022 well and feeling dangerous following the arrival of star forward Dusan Vlahovic last month. A win was needed if the Turin side wanted to further consolidate their 4th place spot, with 5th place Atalanta only two points behind coming into this weekend.

Things have been a little more difficult for Torino recently; Ivan Juric’s side have only picked up one point from their last three league outings, and an away trip to the Allianz Stadium would prove to be a tough challenge.

Torino started the match in the driving seat, having a number of venom-less attacks early into the match.

Against the run of play, Juventus took the lead in the 13th minute. Matthijs de Ligt headed home a curling corner from Juan Cuadrado, putting the Bianconeri 1-0 up.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side began to settle into the game a bit, with Torino trying and failing to find an equaliser as the first half developed.

Mattia De Sciglio replaced Luca Pellegrini at half time as the Italian defender suffered a knee injury during the final stages of the first half.

The second half started in the same way that the first did, with the Granata pushing hard, but Juventus’ defence proved solid as Wojciech Szczęsny commanded his backline, looking confident between the sticks.

Paulo Dybala was brought off in the 54th minute after asking for a substitution, seemingly suffering an injury. This is a concern for the Bianconeri ahead of their Champions League clash against Villarreal next week.

Everything changed in the 62nd minute, when talisman Andrea Belotti scored a stumbling volley to tie things up 1-1, sending the visiting Torino fans wild.

Both sides pushed as the second half continued, but neither managed to find their second. Both teams looked increasingly tired as the match drew to a close, and everything ended all square in the Allianz Stadium, a frustrating result for Allegri and his side.

  1. Juve management: don’t delay the obvious – SACK ALLEGRI, and stop playing dinasaur football. Embarasing performance!

  2. If I were de Ligt I would be asking Mino for a transfer in the summer. If I were Vlahovic, I would be banging my head against a brick wall. I knew he would struggle as there is no midfield. Zakaria is good but another defensive midfielder. I am not surprised by this result and credit to Torino who fully deserved the point as they showed no fear even after going behind. PhD Max is too easy to predict. Change the midfield every game, keep Loca too deep and never look for another goal even if at home. Villarreal have nothing to fear and I am betting that they go through.

  3. This is Allegri’s team. Excellent attacking mids playing too deep, (Locatelli and Arthur) he did the same thing with Pjanic. and the ironic thing as that they went and got Zakaria who I thought was supposed to play as the holding mid but instead plays in more advanced roles than Locatelli and Arthur. This is how f’ed up Allegri is as a coach.

  4. Oh Where are Allegri’s fan ?
they were so loud before the match ?!
Allegri simply isn’t brave enough to play Arthur as regista locatelli and zakaria up front from beginning.
Pirlo didn’t have Dybala , Arthur , Velahovic , Zakaria , Kean , Locatelli yet his team would play much better

  5. The biggest clue was last week seeing Allegri smiling like a Cheshire cat after salvaging a draw. There is no ambition, no drive and no willingness to take the game by the scruff of the neck. This is not Juventus and only a pale imitation at best.
Nobody can doubt the contributions he has made to the club in his first spell, but what was he doing in his Tuscan Villa for 2 years…..
Vlahovic is a beast but like Ronaldo, one has to know how to use a super car. Give Allegri the keys and he will keep driving it in first gear.
One last thing get rid of Dybala. Another game another injury and he did nothing. The same goes for Morata and Kean who are no way near Juventus material.

  6. Dusan up front with a catchers mitt, and yes loca and arthur feeding that ball with zakaria behind them. there is no excuse now to underperform, they have the players.

    meanwhile…

yo bro you should have closed that deal months ago
    AGENT
I did, I did I just didn’t want to tell you yet it’s a surprise, oh alright -dusan agreed to fork over some of the money for you

  7. Also, you know if Allegri starts sending Dusan to collect balls like Chiesa and suffers same fate it’s going to be a 1 termer for his boy. I don’t see how Juv fans will tolerate this at end of season, I like Allegri but putting Arthur and Loca deep is in excusable.

  8. Im sittig here in my new Vlahovic shirt and just cant understand whats going on. I was told with hm everythig will change. I dont understand why the defence and midfield are still so poor when we have Vlahovic in attack.

    Rabiot fino alla fine.

  9. 😂. 😂. 😂. The Juve fans have been duped again. £80 million on a striker who has a team of dog catchers behind him. It doesn’t help either when you have a coach that spends more time looking at his checker’s board when the best coaches are playing 4D chess.

Atalanta and Napoli have the better head to head, Lazio are creeping up and Roma are not that far off. It was fools gold to think that Juve could even break into the top 3. No champions league next season is the best thing that could happen to this club as they need a total reset from top to bottom including Allegri.

  10. Ronaldo couldn’t lift this Juventus side, what makes you all think Vlahovic can? it’s a systemic problem that won’t change until they stop being a bunch of lazy cowards who play defense against mid table teams.
