Salernitana might’ve given up on Diego Costa, but are still transforming with Federico Fazio from Roma, Simone Verdi from Torino and Juventus defender Rade Dragusin.

The club at the foot of the Serie A table is under new ownership this month and director of sport Walter Sabatini has been very busy indeed.

He had been close to a deal with free agent Diego Costa, only for the entire situation to collapse last night amid reports both parties were unhappy with the terms and how long it’d take the striker to reach fitness after his lay-off.

According to Sportitalia, Salernitana are on the verge of several low-cost transfers and loans, including veteran defender Fazio, who has been an outcast at Roma all season.

Verdi has struggled for playing time at Torino and is reportedly already in Salerno for his medical, where he will arrive on loan.

Dragusin is currently on loan at Sampdoria, but not playing often enough, so could be re-routed by parent club Juventus to Salernitana instead.
