Salernitana lawyer Francesco Fimmanò enjoyed yesterday’s 2-2 draw against Juventus and claims the Granata should have been awarded a penalty kick in the first half.

The Allianz Stadium clash was probably the most controversial match of the season in Serie A so far. The Old Lady recovered from two goals down and did score a late winner through Arek Milik, but it was disallowed for a debatable offside of Leonardo Bonucci.

It later emerged that Antonio Candreva could keep Bonucci onside as VAR didn’t spot the Italy international who was close to the corner on the bottom left.

Juventus fans are furious with VAR’s decision and a few Bianconeri players, including Milik and Leo Bonucci, complained on social media.

Salernitana have now replied to the Old Lady through their lawyer Fimmanò.

“Results on the pitch must be accepted. We witnessed a great show yesterday. Regardless of which team one supports, it was a great football match, an extraordinary event,” he told Radio Punto Nuovo, as quoted by Calciomercato.com.

“Now, we look to the future and our project. The results will come as a consequence. Would I play against Juventus again? I like Salernitana so much that I would accept it.

“We watched two important teams yesterday and it is not in our style to comment on the Candreva incident. I could say that we deserved a penalty kick at the beginning of the first half, but it would mean mortifying the show and the beauty of this sport.

Salernitana avoided Serie B relegation last season and have begun 2022-23 on a high note with seven points in the opening six league games.

  1. I love it when they say we won’t talk about such and such and then proceed to talk about such and such in the same sentence.

  2. lol Shecisognare does not realise her beloved PhD Max cannot count that far ahead. 4 mins is the most you will get out of the old dog. That is when the 7/9 are behind as well.
