Ryanair’s official Twitter account in Italy mocked VAR after last night’s error in Juventus–Salernitana: ‘Our planes are more reliable.’
The tweet has become viral in a few hours. It shows the famous footage proving Salernitana winger Antonio Candreva keeping Leo Bonucci onside when Arek Milik scored a late winner that VAR eventually ruled out.
“Our plans are still more reliable than VAR,” wrote Ryanair.
The Bianconeri are upset following a home 2-2 draw against Salernitana last night. They recovered from two goals down and completed an incredible comeback with Milik’s winner, but his goal was disallowed for Leonardo Bonucci’s offside.
The Italy defender believes he was not involved in active play, but he may not have been offside at all, given that his compatriot Candreva appeared to keep him onside.
The ex-Inter and Samp winger was defending a late corner kick from the left and seemed to be beyond any other Juventus player, keeping Bonucci onside.
It is definitely the most debated football-related incident on social media today. Juventus fans are furious, being aware that the game can’t be replayed, as per VAR protocol.

If you can’t tell that Bonucci’s outstretched leg is beyond Candreva’s arm, then I suggest you very quickly make an appointment with your eye doctor.

This vid actually shows Leo was 100% onside. Trust me on this, I’m an artist who understands perspective.
By using the two lines on the field, locate the vanishing point, (the point where this two lines converge). Then draw an offside line from Candreva’s foot to that vanishing point.
