José Mourinho reportedly wants three or four new signings in January, including Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tottenham’s Harry Winks.

The Special One did not hide his disappointment for Roma‘s transfers after the Giallorossi’s 3-2 defeat against Venezia.

Roma were the highest spenders in Serie A last summer, having invested more than €90m in new signings.

However, the Portuguese coach expected more new signings, primarily a centre midfielder.

The Serie A giants held lengthy talks with Arsenal regarding their captain Granit Xhaka but did not manage to reach an agreement with the North Londoners.

Mourinho unhappy with players and transfers at Roma

Mourinho has often complained about the squad’s depth this season and according to multiple reports in Italy, the coach wants now three or four new signings in the winter transfer window.

According to Calciomercato.com, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one of Roma’s targets for January, but the Giallorossi are also monitoring Harry Winks of Tottenham.

Roma’s priority target is Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, but his contract expires in the summer and, according to the report, he has received other offers, including some from Premier League clubs, so Roma could miss out on his signing.

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot is also a long-time target of Mourinho, who signed his compatriot when in charge of the Red Devils in 2018.
