Cremonese are closing out a deal for Felix Afena-Gyan, allowing Roma to finally sign free agent Andrea Belotti, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The newly promoted side have agreed to pay the Giallorossi €6m plus €3m in add-ons for the talented 19-year-old Ghanian forward, who broke into the Roma first team last season under Jose Mourinho. Afena-Gyan will earn around €600,000 net per season with Cremonese, where he’ll be hoping for consistent playing time.

The departure of Afena-Gyan finally allows Roma to sign Belotti, who has been patiently waiting on the sidelines after his contract expired with Torino last month. The Italian striker has been training in Sicily in recent weeks, wanting to be fully fit once his transfer has been completed.

Roma are now working on finalising the details of Belotti’s contract, keen to integrate him into Mourinho’s squad ahead of the next Serie A match against Juventus.

  1. I’m a long term Milan fan but seeing that Man has abandoned italians altogether and Belotti held out for them and they still wouldn’t take him for free (childhood fan of the club even) and Roma is stepping in I think I’m pulling for Roma this year.

I love their team right now. Great mix of italians and non italians, dybala and belotti super smart free transfers. Tammy is excellent and Zaniolo looks phenomenal. I hope Roma does excellent this year. Really the only big team that plays italians right now. Sad but true.

  2. Not happy about the fact that Felix is leaving..great guy with very good potential..I hope there is a buy back clause in the contract
