Reports in Italy claim FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné has asked for 40 more days to carry out an investigation on Juventus‘ salaries.

The Bianconeri were docked 15 points for the current season last week after the FIGC court of appeal agreed to re-open the case regarding inflated transfer values.

The motivations of the ruling will be disclosed in the coming weeks, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, as there is a second sporting trial the Bianconeri could face soon.

In fact, FIGC Prosecutor Chiné is looking into the documents provided by the Turin Prosecutor, which appear to prove Juventus paid players and staff members’ salaries under the table after the peak of the COVID pandemic in 2020, without registering their debts in their balance sheets and failing to inform FIGC.

According to Gazzetta and Sky Sport Italia, Chiné has asked the General Prosecutor of Sport for 40 more days to continue the investigation.

A second trial could lead to further penalties for Juventus who also risk being banned from European competitions.
