Juventus are at risk of being banned from European competitions after receiving a 15-point deduction in Serie A, reports Gazzetta.

The Bianconeri have been docked 15 points for financial irregularities, in a trial looking into their inflated transfer values between 2019 and 2021.

According to Gazzetta, UEFA could ban Juventus from European competitions due to ‘unsporting conduct’ which emerges from wiretaps that ‘inspired’ Friday’s FIGC ruling.

This isn’t all for the Old Lady who could face a new sporting trial with the accusation of having paid salaries under the table after the peak of the COVID pandemic.

If it’s proved that Juventus secretly paid salaries, leaving no trace in their financial statements, UEFA will review the settlement agreement taking into account the new figures in their balance sheet.

Juventus were fined €3.5m in 2021 for not sticking to the FFP parameters, but it will rise to €23m if the Serie A giants fail to comply with UEFA’s financial criteria within the next three years and could be banned from European competitions for more than a season, depending on how much they lose.

The potential ban will only be valid once Juventus qualify for European competitions. This means that if they don’t end up in the top seven this term, the penalty won’t be applied in 2023-24 but will start once the Bianconeri return to Europe.

  1. And they keep letting go City and PSG who obviously also have some irregular financial activities?
Why are UEFA so against Italian teams?
