Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra admits Inter and Roma are strong but “it’s just the beginning”.

The Bianconeri finally got their first Serie A win of the season against Genoa on Sunday, but are nonetheless eight points behind early pacesetters Inter.

“Inter are doing well, they’re top of the table,” Pereyra admitted in an interview with Sky.

“Then there’s Roma, and we’ll see what happens in the end. This is just the beginning, and we’ll always want to fight to finish above them.”

Pereyra came on as a substitute against the Grifone, and discussed the role he played after replacing Alvaro Morata.

“Before the game you have to be in the right mental state already. Then you can either come on or not, it’s something that happens to everyone.

“I came on and everything went well. The Coach [Max Allegri] asked me to fulfil the role that Morata had been doing so well until he went off.

“Then I did what he asked of me.”
